Ashley Iola

Ashley Iola doesn’t consider herself an ‘Awkward Guru’ but more an outspoken girl who has well over ten years of being awkward under her belt. As an only child born to a workaholic genius father and an over the top rolling stone mother, she picked up the best of both worlds. Figuring out at a young age that she was a little different from most of her peers, she decided that being silly would be a common ground she could share. Well, that resulted in her being labeled as weird, but she ran with it. Her happy demeanor and “absorb everything like a sponge” brain allowed her to fit in where she normally wouldn’t. Ashley Iola was either easily bored or a bit of an over achiever because she crowded her schedule with over twenty school and community activities to keep herself busy and in college she majored in Radio and Television Production with a minor in Psychology. She has countless awkward stories to share, from times she’s worked with random celebrities, her days on reality television production sets and her transition from being a small town girl to living the big city life. She went from being an awkward duckling to an awkward swan. Now she fully embraces her differences and manages to keep that same funny girl mentality. She hopes to use her experiences to help guide others through similar situations, or even totally opposite ones, she learned to not think outside of the box, but to think like there is no box.
